Patriotic

The language of anti-terrorism takes an unexpected form in this seductive propaganda video, which scores George W. Bush's notorious Patriotic Act of 2001 to Celine Dion's Love Theme to Titanic.



Patriotic was produced with funding from Arcadi (France), and includes performances by François Delclaux, Matthieu Delahausse, and Vincent Simon. The video premièred at L’Espace Pierre Cardin, Paris as part of the 2006 Némo Festival.



Critical writing about Patriotic includes “Shout, Shout, Let It All Out”, an essay by Derrick Chang addressing artworks that engage themes of queer citizenship and homonationalism for C Magazine, Canada.
