Nightwood

Chiffon and glitter, variable dimensions, 2013.

A diaphanous veil, dusted with plentiful silver glitter, hangs from a window, extending into the exhibition space. The movement of gallery visitors transports shimmering traces of the sculpture—and thus the history of the space—beyond the borders of the room, out into the streets, perhaps infinitely.
Nightwood was first produced forI Have Come To Ask You To Tell Me Everything You Know About The Night, a solo exhibition in the Turret Room of The Khyber, in Halifax, Canada. Nightwood sought to engage the history of the room, which once housed the city's first gay bar.
