Nightwood

Chiffon and glitter, variable dimensions, 2013.

A diaphanous veil, dusted with plentiful silver glitter, hangs from a window, extending into the exhibition space. The movement of gallery visitors transports shimmering traces of the sculpture — and thus the history of the space — beyond the borders of the room, out into the streets, perhaps infinitely.

Nightwood was first produced for I Have Come To Ask You To Tell Me Everything You Know About The Night, a solo exhibition in the Turret Room of The Khyber, in Halifax, Canada. Nightwood sought to engage the history of the room, which once housed the city's first gay bar.
