Forever Young

Video, 2001.

Nemer sing’s Alphaville’s pop song Forever Young amid an information overload of simultaneous translations, satellite weather reports and defragmenting computer screens. Forever Young is an anthem—part love poem and part lament—to our visions of the future. Do you really want to live forever?
Forever Young features American Sign Language interpretor Marnie Janoschak Quinlin and was produced as part of Charles Street Video’s 2001 Lo-Fi/Sci-Fi residency. The video premièred at Toronto’s Images Festival. Nemer revisited Alphaville’s lyrics in his 2004 Subtitled photo project.
