Bonne Fête
Garden roses, wire, floral tape, performance for group of men, 2012The first in a series of floral re-enactments in which Nemer isolates and stages floral scenes and gestures from the history of art and cinema. In this first floral remake, a group of men hold, ponder, and exchange a floral arrangement designed to mimic artist Henri Rousseau's 1892 painting, Bonne Fête. Bonne Fête was first presented at the Owens Gallery in 2012. This floral re-enactment was followed by Notes on the Flowers of the Soviet War Monument.
